Laughs & Learning Child Care
So, just what can I really expect for my child at Laughs
& Learning Child Care ?
Well, it will be your child' s "home away from home". A clean smoke/drug free enviorment. There will
never be anyone here other than myself and my husband when your child is here. They will feel loved and safe here as soon
as they walk in the door !
Outdoor activities and free play are planned daily. I have a large fenced
in yard, with lots of swings and toys for all ages. We have a brand hew park one block away that is used almost daily. We
will also take walks each day as weather permits. I am big on trying to prevent childhood obesity, so we are a very
active group ! (helps the children to sleep better at night, too !!) Safe and educational toys and books for all ages and
both genders are provided in my large playroom. Toys available include large muscle equipment, musical toys, trucks,
tools, dolls, blocks, legos, pretend play (kitchen, food, mops, brooms, etc.) stuffed animals, push and pull toys, and
toys to encourage role playing and exploring our personalities..
Time is also spent each day in structured, learning activities for preschoolers and toddlers as age permits. This time includes
such activities as reading stories, learning new words, singing, coloring, playing games, puzzles, painting, crafts,
and learning numbers, letters, shapes and colors even cooking (safely of coure !).
Each week includes special activities and projects to celebrate holidays and other
special days. I also like to include a different theme for each month. There will be learning, crafts and activites tailored
around these throughout the week. These themes teach a variety of subjects including cooperation, dental health,
poison awareness, manners, exercise, nutrition, science, germs, plants, the 5 senses, self-esteem, a variety of animals,
and many other topics.
I also try to teach appropriate social skills to the children. These are some of the things that we try
to work on; sharing, no biting, no hitting, following instructions, cleaning up, don’t take things that aren’t
yours, tell the truth, don’t swear, wash your hands, please and thank you, taking turns, saying your sorry,
etc..
I try to provide a home away from home for each
child in my care. I have a very detailed questionire that I ask to be filled out upon enrollment. I like to know all
of your child's likes and dislikes from the start. That way, I can do my best to make them as comfortable here, as they are
at home !
